Memorial Day Weekend: GR style

We had fabulous weather (finally!) for the long weekend and celebrated accordingly: by being outside almost the entire time!

Saturday we got some stuff done around the house and then Grandma and Grandpa came over to babysit so we could try out the Saturday night service at church. Then we walked around Reed's Lake and had ice cream at Jersey Junction...MMMMMMMMMMMMM. (Me and Pete's new fav: Blueberry Cobbler).

Then Sunday we lounged: went for a walk in the morning, attempted to go to FMG for a walk early afternoon, and then hosted a gathering of friends in the evening. We had a great time catching up, eating & drinking, playing Washers and then Bocce, and finally devouring an entire package of Klondike bars between the remaining 4 adults. Don't you love how ice cream becomes such a fixture as soon as the weather gets warmer??

To round out the long weekend Pete, Grayson, and I headed up to the White Pine Trail yesterday after breakfast. We packed a lunch and planned on stopping at a park along the way to play. The weather was beautiful, Grayson enjoyed the Burley this time, and gosh that White Pine Trail is so scenic! We had been up there one other time but didn't quite notice how nice it was.

Having lunch by the dam in Rockford.

Grayson in the Burley. And with his bike helmet on-that didn't last long.

And finally at the cute little park by the river in Rockford-another great picnic spot! He doesn't like slides AT ALL! ;)

Sounds like a fantastic weekend, Julie! Yes--great minds do think alike--JJ is the best. And a random bit of info: if I ever ran into you in real life, I'm not certain I'd recognize you! Sooo, if you ever see ME in public, make sure you stop me and say hello :)
